Gearing up for 2014

Gearing up for 2014

Welcome to the 9th year of 64-Max-All-In!

Last updated:  21 Aug 2014

News:

(1) Draft will be Tue, Sep 2 at 8-pm.

Please let the Commish know if you cannot participate.  Skype audio will be available if you're interested in talking trash.  My username is 'houghtah'.

(2) Same rules, dues, payout, format, etc. as last year (see the Constitution post).

I polled managers on Jul 26 to gauge interest in making 64-Max-All-In a keeper league.  We did not have sufficient interest (as of Aug 21) this year:  3 yes, 3 no, 6 no response/ambivalent.

(3) Expect a PayPal invitation to pay your dues ($25).

Please do so before the draft.

(4) We have a new (returning) Manager this year.

Mark R. (CornerBlitz) decided to hang up his cleats this season.  Chris M. will return, with his bride Stacy as co-manager.  Chris was a Manager in this league for its first 4 or 5 seasons.

Morning Constitution

Morning Constitution

Verdict (as of 3 Dec 2013):  Neither amendment adopted.

Draft constitutional amendments; last updated 20 Sep 2013; please make comments!

Trades involving players participating in a Thursday night game

- Manager 1 trades away a player with a Thursday night game
- Manager 2 trades away a player with a Sunday or Monday game
- the trade goes into effect Friday-Sunday

In an accepted trade that goes into effect Friday or later,  Manager 1 should not use (play) the player he is trading away in the Thursday game.  Since Manager 2 cannot use this player until the following week, Manager 1 should also bench the player he receives until the following week.  This, in effect, means the trade does not go into effect until the following week, with the downside of disallowing Managers to use the players named in the trade in the current week.

Verdict?

Keeping starting roster spots filled

- A Manager drops his only K or DEF mid-week to add a free agent QB/RB/WR/TE
- This Manager drops a QB/RB/WR/TE on Sunday and filles his empty K or DEF

Managers are discouraged from the above action, as this effectively takes a viable free agent out of play for the current week.  Managers should have all starting roster spots filled at all times.

64-Max-All-In Constitution

64-Max-All-In Constitution

Draft constitution; last updated 12 Sep 2013; please make comments!

Our overarching league settings are presented on our main Yahoo site.

League Overview:

We are an auction league for both a live draft ($200 budget) and the waiver wire ($100 budget).
The waiver blackout period is game-time through Tuesday; waivers are processed on Wednesday.
We score one point-per-reception (PPR); scoring is fairly standard otherwise.
We play head-to-head for 13 weeks.
The top 6 teams make the playoffs; the playoffs run Weeks 14 to 16.
The season ends after Week 13 for the bottom 6 teams.
We follow Yahoo rules (link?) to determine tie-breakers.
We expect Managers to update their lineup each week; otherwise penalties will be levied (TBD?)

Not obvious, but of possible interest:

Waiver dollars can be transferred between Managers as part of trades.
Return TD points go to the individual player and to the DEF (true for us in previous years).

Dues & Payout:

$25 to join, due prior to the live draft.

For our typical 12-team league ...
$200 to Season Champion.
$60 to Season Runner-Up.
$25 to Regular Season Champion.
$15 to PayPal, USPS, and the trophy company.

The Trophy:

Our trophy will be awarded to the Season Champion after the Fantasy Super Bowl.
The Season Champion earns the right to enjoy the trophy for the offseason and next season.
The previous Champion delivers the trophy to the Commish (save $10 of your $200 for postage!).
The Commish adds a new Season Champion plaque and bestows the trophy to the winning Manager.
